Shaye Haver is a former United States Army officer who made history as one of the first two women to graduate from the U.S. Army Ranger School in August 2015. She received her commission as a second lieutenant in May 2012 and went on to complete the rigorous Ranger School training alongside her fellow female graduate, Kristen Griest.
Haver's accomplishment was a significant milestone for women in the U.S. military, as the Army Ranger School had previously been open only to men since its inception in 1950. Haver and Griest's successful completion of the course paved the way for more women to pursue elite military training programs and combat roles.
In addition to her role as an Army officer, Haver is also a talented athlete and played college basketball at the United States Military Academy at West Point. She continues to inspire others with her determination and perseverance in breaking down barriers for women in the military.
